The Sovereignty of God
The sovereignty of God means that He rules over all creation with absolute authority and power. Nothing happens outside of His will, plan, or permission. He is the ultimate King—completely free, infinitely wise, and fully in control.
Biblical Foundation
• The Lord has established His throne in the heavens, and His kingdom rules over all.” – Psalm 103:19
• “Our God is in the heavens; He does all that He pleases.” – Psalm 115:3
• “I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning…” – Isaiah 46:9–10
What It Means for Us
1. Confidence in Uncertainty – Life can feel out of control, but God is never surprised. His plan is always at work, even when we cannot see it.
2. Purpose in Suffering – Even trials are not wasted. God uses everything—joys and hardships—for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28).
3. Humility in Life – Because God is sovereign, we are reminded that He is the Creator and we are His creation. Our role is to trust and obey.
4. Hope for Eternity – His sovereign plan guarantees victory through Christ. No power on earth or in hell can overturn what God has promised.
Why It Matters
The sovereignty of God is not meant to make us fearful but faithful. It means we can rest, knowing our lives are in the hands of the One who is all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-loving.
The attributes of God are the qualities and perfections that reveal who He is. They show His character, His nature, and how He relates to creation. While human words cannot fully capture His greatness, Scripture gives us a glimpse of His attributes so we can know and worship Him rightly.

Why It Matters
Knowing God’s attributes helps us worship Him with awe, trust Him with confidence, and love Him more deeply. His attributes remind us that He is not like us—He is infinitely greater, yet He draws near in grace through Jesus Christ.
Jesus is our ultimate, final, and complete sacrifice, and salvation is open to every person, regardless of who they are or what they have done. That is why the promise is whoever puts his faith in Christ will be saved and will receive eternal life. It is absolutely guaranteed to any person who receives His grace—He will never reject them.
Jesus, I come to you today to admit that I am a sinner. I admit that I cannot live without you and I need a savior. I believe that you were crucified and died on the cross as an atonement for me and my sins, was buried and rose again on the third day and now sit at the right hand of God The Father. I turn from my sins and ask that you forgive me today, right here, right now, and create in me a clean heart. Give me your new life that is abundant and free. I accept your free gift of salvation. I accept your mercy and grace. Come and live within me, change my life, and lead me all of the rest of my days. I give my life to you. Thank you for loving me. Help me to learn to love you in return. In your name I pray, amen.
Romans 10:9 NKJV
